In short
Storiascopio has no accounts, never asks for names or emails and uses no profiling cookies. You can use it in class without registering anyone.
What stays on your device
A few small things are kept only in your browser (local storage), never on our computers: the events you have read (your diary), your daily challenge result, your best quiz scores, the language you choose, whether you have seen the opening animation and the tips, and the whiteboard mode. You can delete them whenever you like by clearing the site data in your browser.
What we don't do
We don't sell data, show personalised ads or use third-party tracking tools. Fonts and images are hosted here: opening Storiascopio sends no requests to other websites.
Anonymous statistics and ads
To learn which pages are useful the site may use a small anonymous counter of our own, on this same domain (when it is switched on, it only counts visits): it uses no cookies, does not save your IP address, collects no names or emails, does not follow people across websites and shares no data with anyone. If ads ever arrive, they will be non-personalised only, never on the line, in quizzes or on classroom pages, and this page will be updated first.
Children and young people
The site is designed for children and young people aged 8 to 13: that is why there is nothing to fill in and there are no chats or comments.
Reading aloud
The “Listen” button plays recordings (audio files hosted on this site) or your device’s own voice, which reads the text inside your browser. The site never uses your microphone and records nothing you do. On some devices the system voice may rely on an online service from the device maker: that depends on your browser, not on Storiascopio.
Links to other websites
The sources on the cards, the links to my other work (Spotify, YouTube, Gumroad, Apple Books, the sister sites) and the sharing buttons (WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook) lead to external websites only when you tap them: those websites have their own privacy rules.
